This was my second attempt at doing the milkmaid braid hairstyle.  The first time I did it was about two weeks ago when I first wore this outfit.  This is quickly becoming a favorite look of mine (both the hair and the outfit).  The milkmaid braids are so easy to do, it's tempting not to wear my hair like this all the time.  And this outfit is really comfy and playful.  It's perfect for Spring.

I wish I had taken a picture from behind.  This top is actually boxy and loose.  It's one of those oversized crop tops.  I didn't think it looked very flattering with this skirt, so I tied a knot in the back with a hair tie.  This gave the top a more fitted look.  And the knot gave the outfit a cute, care-free vibe.  It even landed me a compliment on the knot alone!  :)

Hope you're all having a great week so far!  It's only Monday, but I'm really looking forward to the rest of the week.  It's going to hit 90 degrees on Wednesday and Thursday.  I can't wait!  I live for this kind of weather.

The wind was blowing really hard for most of the time we took these pictures.  We decided to just go with the flow and make the most of it.  It's kind of a funny coincidence, but almost every time I've worn this dress there seems to be a gust of wind following me around.  I nearly had a Marilyn moment!

On the other hand, it may have been a good thing that the wind was blowing.  Otherwise you wouldn't be able to see the cute pockets on either sides.  It's a convenient little detail.  I don't really take advantage of pockets on clothing, but I appreciate the effort by the designer.

Anyway, this dress comes in all sorts of pretty colors and prints.  So if green isn't your color, check out these other options.   It's a classic silhouette.  And the best thing about wearing this dress so much is that this color doesn't fade when I wash it.

I've got a few things to say about this post:

-This dress was made by my multi talented friend.  I love the color and length.  It's something I could see the first lady wearing.

-I'm a little burnt out at the moment, so I really don't have much to say.  I had a few technical difficulties while trying to upload these pictures and create the post.  Nothing major, though.

-Thanks so much for your comments on my last post.  I'm 100% better!   Now maybe I can go another three years without getting sick.  Maybe even longer?  Let's see.... ;)

I wore this outfit on the warmest day of the year so far.  It was in the mid 80s that day and I wasn't hot at all.  This was because...it finally happened.  I got a cold!  So I was literally cold for an entire week.  This was a huge deal to me because I hadn't gotten a cold or flu in 3 years.  And honestly, it wasn't as bad as I thought it would be.

Normally, when people around me are getting sick, I take echinacea pills for a few days and I will not get sick.  But this time I ran out of those immune building pills and that nasty bug finally bit me.

You know what the best part of getting sick was?  I had an excuse to pull out this super long, warm skirt of mine.  This is yet another vintage item that was handed down to me from my mother.  I'm really glad these longer length skirts are making a comeback.  I love the way the pleats move as I walk.

This hat is the cherry on top of this outfit.  It wouldn't be nearly as playful without the hat.  It would look just fine without it, but I love that pop of red on top.

I'm so excited for this warmer weather we've been getting!  Irises and roses are blooming everywhere.  It makes me so impatient for the Summer.  The vineyards are lined with thousands of mustard blossoms.  And the sides of the road are peppered with California poppies.  All those florals create such a beautiful scent in the air.  I absolutely love this time of year.

These pictures were taken about a week ago, so you won't get to see me sporting my warmer weather gear.  So get ready...I'm about to start wearing skirts and dresses more comfortably.  Pants are awesome, but dresses are my favorite.  They're so easy to style :)

This outfit was perfect for yet another rainy day.  In between the storm, we snapped these pictures.  There was barely enough time to take pictures without getting rained on.  And while I was busy standing in front of the camera, I failed to notice that these sunglasses were pushed too far against my face.  LOL!  Oops indeed.  Am I the only one who does that?

I'm also wearing a new lipstick.  It's "Flat Out Fabulous" from Mac.  And it looks really similar to "Girl About Town," which is my favorite pink lipstick.  The only difference is that Flat Out Fabulous is matte and it's a little more purple.  I find that matte lipsticks lasts much longer, too.  So it's an added bonus.  I wasn't sure about this purchase at first.  But after wearing it all day without any feathering, this may be my new favorite!
