1971 : Hot August Nights

1971 1 1971 2 1971 3 Wearing:
Parker top
Topshop American Flag shorts
Rebecca Minkoff gladiator sandals
Prada sunglasses
Topshop layered necklaces

My boyfriend and I have made it a tradition to go to Reno for Hot August Nights every year.  If you don't know what HAN is, I'm sorry to hear that.  ;)  It's the biggest classic car show event in the world.  It takes place in Reno, Nevada and the event lasts for an entire week.  A whole week of live music (50s and 60s inspired of course), drag races, nightly cruises, daily show 'n shine (in multiple places), live car auctions, lots of food, contests, and more.  Everything is 50s and 60s themed.  It's an absolute blast!  I have the time of my life every time.

What I love most about this event are two things:  the people there and the cars.  Everyone attending or participating is there for their love of classic cars.  Having a vintage Mustang myself, Hot August Nights is the perfect place for me.

I wore this outfit for our last day there.   I knew we were going to be walking around everywhere, so I wore comfortable sandals.

Something to note:  If you've never been to a car show before, don't ever touch any of the show cars!  That's basic car show etiquette.  The owner of this beautiful 1971 Mustang actually let me touch his car...and sit inside of it.  I've been to countless shows and this is the first time that's ever happened.

Hope you like these photos.  There are more outfit photos I'll be posting for this Hot August Nights series :)

Better Together: Matching Tweed Set

Better Together 1 Better Together 2 Better Together 3 Better Together 4 Better Together 5 Better Together 6 Better Together 7 Better Together 8 Wearing:
Harlowe & Graham matching crop top and skirt set
Kate Spade mini cedar maise purse
Nine West sandals
Dior sunglasses
Estee Lauder "Candy" lipstick

I wore this outfit in the middle of July.  It was an unusually hot day in San Francisco.  My boyfriend and I were celebrating our anniversary together.  While we originally planned on going to specific places in the city that day, we decided to keep things spontaneous.  We walked around and just enjoyed ourselves, rather than meticulously planning out our day.  It turned out to be one of the best weekends I'd had in a long time.  It was great spending quality time with my love.

You might notice that my right leg is bent.  I was stung by a bee a few days prior and I'm allergic.  It was hard to keep my leg straight because it was so itchy!

Okay, that's all for now :)

Two weeks ago Amber and I went to Screamin' Mimi's in Sebastopol for some gelato.  We couldn't help but take pictures in front of their pretty pink wall.

Can we talk about these pants?  I've been more than excited about this 70s trend coming back in.  I've always loved flared pants.  And these are seriously amazing.  They're soft, stretchy, and so so comfortable.  I highly recommend them!  I bought them in blue but they also come in pink.

Elie Tahari denim vest
Enzo Angiolini rhinestone mules (11 years old!)
Kate Spade mini Cedar Maise bag
Dolce and Gabbana almond flower sunglasses
YSL Ultimate Beige lipstick

My boyfriend bought me this adorable purse for Christmas.  I can't believe it's taken me this long to post an outfit of myself wearing it.  I've worn it a number of times, but it never made it on here.

It's been a while since you've seen this dress on my blog.  This is one of those items in my closet that I've worn countless times.  If it's a little breezy outside, I wear it with this vest.  The only thing that changes are the shoes and bag I wear.  I guess you could say this is my late summer uniform: a dress and a vest.

Have a great rest of your week :)

Summer Leather (Wear to Work + Day To Night)

Forever 21 necklace
H&M leather peplum top
Siena Studio skirt leather pencil skirt
Tory Burch flats
Linea Paolo heels
MAC lipstick in "Heroine"
Essie nail polish in "Chillato"

This Summer has been pretty tame compared to previous summers in Sonoma.  Throughout the years we used to get crazy heat waves (100-120) for days at a time.  The hottest we've gotten this year was barely 105.  Because of this, I've been able to wear this leather top and skirt to work.  Then again, at work I'm in an air conditioned building ;)  Regardless, wearing leather in the summer is a must for me.

I received a lot of compliments on my "dress."  But it's actually a top and a skirt.  For the first look (shown in the first picture), I wore flats.  For the second, I didn't change anything about this outfit except the shoes.  I wore a pair of heels.  It's a busy girl's way of wearing two looks in one.

Hope you guys liked this post :)

Kushyfoot (Outfit post + Product review)

Kushyfoot Review 1 Kushyfoot Revew 2 Kushyfoot review 3 Kushyfoot Review 4 Kushyfoot Review 5 Kushyfoot Review 6 Kushyfoot Review 7 Kushyfoot Review 8 Kushyfoot Review 9 Kushyfoot Review 10 Wearing:
Topshop crop tee
Topshop pelmet skirt
Topshop necklaces
American Apparel jelly shoes
YSL Rouge volupte lipstick in "Ultimate Beige"
Louis Vuitton mini backpack
KushyFoot flats and socks

When I bought these flat shoes on my trip to Vegas, I bought them solely for comfort.  I hadn't brought a pair of comfortable walking shoes with me on my trip (which was a huge mistake).  They saved my feet, but that taught me a lesson:  I should always keep a good pair of comfortable flats around.

A comfortable pair of flats is a must for any woman.  Which is why I was so excited to share KushyFoot with you guys.  KushyFoot is a brand that offers functional and stylish leg wear accessories.  Shown here are various colors of their no-show socks for sling backs, comfortable knee highs, and my comfy Flats To Go!  Not pictured are some no-show socks with a cushioned sole.  Check them out...I know you guys will love them too :)

The Flats On the Go I'm wearing are adorable (love the leopard print)...but even more important than their looks are how comfortable they are and how easily they can fit in your purse or glove box.  They come in a cute little bag, so they're easy to carry around.

Ever heard of Kushyfoot before?  Tell me what you guys think in the comments!
