BCBG sude and leather pumps
Burberry watch
H&M headband
Vintage purse
Mac "Fresh Moroccan" lipstick

I have some major explaining to do.  First of all, this look is a repeat from 2 years ago.  If you followed my last blog (which is now long gone...thanks Google!), you may remember this look.  I repeat my outfits more frequently than you may think.  I just don't always have time to take a picture of every one of my outfits.

Secondly...it dawned on me the other day that I never fully introduced myself.  Like, you guys probably don't know much about me other than "I'm an illustrator from Northern California.  This is my personal style blog."  LOL!  Let me elaborate on that a little.  Here are some fun facts about me that you should know about:

-I'm from a very small, gossipy town in Sonoma County.  It's a pretty place, known mostly for its vineyards and wines. They call it Wine Country.

-I've been drawing since I can remember.  I've shown my work at art shows since I was in High School.    I've painted murals and produced commissioned work for years.  Right now I'm finishing my BFA in Illustration.  This would explain why sometimes I don't have time to post much (sorry about that).

-My boyfriend Jaime, who takes all my pictures, is also an artist.  He's far more talented than I :)

-I love birds.  I currently own a 13 year old Lutino cockatiel named Peaches.  She's the sweetest thing.  I also own a few rare breeds of chickens :)

-I love muscle cars, specifically the Ford Mustang.  I know more about classic Mustangs than most guys my age.  True story.

I'm not sure what else to add. I'm not very good at writing about myself.  I also don't like sharing so many personal things about myself as I like to keep things private here on the web.  I've had far too many bad experiences on social networks.  But at the same time I feel that it's important to have a voice for my blog.  I think it's helpful for you guys to get to know me a little better.  So from time to time, I'll share a snippet of my life.  And today, you get little random facts about me.

Thanks for reading!

Along the Trail

Along the Trail_1 Along the Trail_2 Along the Trail_3 Along the Trail_4 Wearing:

Vintage top from the 70s
Topshop "Baxter" white jeans
Arturo Chiang pumps
ASOS bag
Burberry watch
Vintage bracelets and ring
Clinique lipgloss & lipstick duo in "Shy" and "Mystique)

There are times I wish I had a mirror in front of me while taking pictures.  That would really help me see how pictures are going to turn out.  Or what I'm doing wrong lol.   In these pictures, you can't see my adorable velvet and patent leather heels...or the pretty collar on my top.  And in the last photo, my hair covered most of the pretty embroidery on the front of it.  I think it's supposed to be a scene from the Oregon Trail.  I don't know how some of your bloggers out there get the perfect shots every time.  You guys are so good!

So this top is another vintage piece that belonged to my mom.  I love this top!  It's not trendy or "in" at all, but I really like wearing it.  I'd always wear my mom's vintage clothes in Middle School and High School.  That probably explains the weird looks I'd get all the time...LOL!

Hope you like these pictures!  Even the mistakes and all :)

Frosty

Frosty_1 Frosty_2
Wearing:

BB Dakota suede and faux fur jacket
Cable knit leggings (no label)
Steve Madden "Graanie" boots in cognac
Burberry scarf
Estee Lauder "Stay Scarlet" lipstick

If I could blog all day long, I would.  That's why today is such a treat.   I feel like I finally have time to do a post that's not rushed and a little more thought out.  Gone are the days where I would plan out which hot topics to cover as well as which looks I want to get photographed in.  There's been so much going on in the world, my work, and in my personal life.  It's easy to get overwhelmed.  But one thing I found that is always an escape for me is this blog.  That and running.  Running is my therapy.  Exercise and blogging don't always go together.  But for me they work as a way to help me cope with a stressful reality.

Whenever I look back at old photographs from this blog, it makes me smile.  I remember events that occurred during that day...and sometimes I wish so badly that I could go back to it.  Especially when I'm swamped with assignments that seem to have no end.   This pictures for example, make me happy. I love the snow.  These pictures were taken in our super secret sledding spot ;)  It's actually not so secret, but not many people cover this area.

Anyway, is blogging your escape too?  What else helps you to relax during busy or stressful times?

Happy Monday & God Bless!

What I Wore on Valentine's Day

Valentine's Day_1 Valentine's Day_2 Valentine's Day_3 Wearing:

Bebe black origami dress (old...actually it was new but I never wore it until yesterday)
Dior sunglasses
Vintage velvet purse
Silver ring and rose brooch from Sierra Silver and Gold Buyers
Forever 21 heart tights (with a hole thanks to my ring)
Mac "Fresh Moroccan" lipstick

I wanted to keep it simple yet classy for Valentine's Day.  This is the outfit I wore.  I got all dressed up, had some lunch with my amazing boyfriend and then headed to the shooting range.  LOL!  Nothing says "I love you" like hitting your target.

I hope that every single one of you had a wonderful time yesterday.  Especially you single gals out there!  I was single for many years so I know that Valentine's Day can be such a drag.  It's really such a stupid holiday.  It's not even a real holiday.  It probably all started when some boring old fart wanted to think of a new way to lure in more customers into his department store chain.  The holidays were over and business was slow.  So he decided to invent a new holiday to increase sales.  I'm pretty sure that's what happened ;)  The concept of V Day is wonderful.  But shouldn't love be celebrated every day?  Real love doesn't come from a heart shaped box of chocolates, nor from a bouquet of roses wrapped in plastic.

But I'm totally not going to lie.  I do like getting those things :)  In the end I guess the joke is on me.  I fell for this phony holiday.

Cabin Fever

Cabin Fever_1 Cabin Fever_2

Wearing:

Mink fur earmuffs from Bloomingdale's
Vintage sweater
Zara red pants (TRF collection)
Burberry scarf
Steve Madden "Graanie" boots in cognac
Mac lipstick in "Impassioned" (I wore coconut oil as a chap stick underneath my lipstick.  It gave my lips a nice sheen.)

Last week my boyfriend and I went on trip together.  These pictures were taken just off the shore of Lake Tahoe, amidst a little cluster of cabins where we stayed.  Comfort is a must when traveling.  So I wore my comfiest boots and clothing.   And yeah...the quality of pictures are not so great.  But I was on vacation.  All I wanted to do was play in the snow :)  Picture time came in second.  More outfit pics to come!
