Crochet and Leather

One thing I will never get tired of pairing together are two (or more) different textures.  I love leather and lace, crochet and leather, and silky blouses with suede shorts or velvet pants.  I just love the way contrasting textures feel together!

You've seen me wear this crocheted beauty before.  It belonged to my mom.  There are actually pictures of her in a family album of her wearing it while she was holding me.  I'll share the picture when I find it!

And that, my friends, is one of the many reasons why I enjoy blogging.  I'm able to look at what I'm wearing from a stranger's perspective.  I don't just see what I look like in a mirror, but I get to see and analyze my outfits from afar through photographs.  Posting pictures of my outfits triggers memories of the last time I wore an item, when I wore it, why I wore it, who I was with, and when I bought it.  Wearing this crocheted top reminds me of my mother, of that candid photograph that was taken of us two, and of the people I was with that day.

Now I'll have another memory to add to the list.  I wore this outfit on a lunch date at the park with my boyfriend.  :)
